Feeding our Family
When my husband and I were just starting out we were “poor college students”. We gave ourselves a meager $20 a week to spend on food. Worst Idea EVER! Yes, we were saving money but eating “Top Roman” and “Jiffy” muffins is a horrible way to refuel your body. Needless to say, we realized we had to up the budget and eat better food. I started making a lot of our meals from scratch and now I have a collection of great recipes and ideas that can help you eat healthy on a budget.
Why Dairy Free?
Most of my kiddos are pretty sensitive to milk. So, I’ve been on a mission to create delicious meals without using milk, butter, cheese or anything from a cow! It’s been a challenge but I love creating different recipes or altering other great recipes to fit our tastes. My professor from college once said, “Conflict causes Creativity”.

Why Focus on Food?
This Blog is going to discuss how we are paying off $288,000 of debt. However, more importantly, I am going to share how I live and love life on a budget. I’m sure you all can relate that food is one of the main “budget busters” in personal finance. Food is an area where most people can cut costs.
Just as food is a key part in budgeting, it is also a major part in enjoying life. Hand in hand, Food and Family go together. Furthermore, there are a few of my meals and recipes that make my kids grin from ear to ear, so excited to eat something delicious.
